Born in Odessa in 1977 into a family of musicians, Alexander Mogilevsky grew up in Moscow where he attended the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. His international career was launched in 1992 when he won the first Tchaikovsky International Competition for Young Pianists.
