i'm 43yo, i saw "debarge" on my compilation and i never listen to that band. i thought it must be a basic reference since that time. now i just listen to a song, and i can't understand why it is famous ! isn't it another overated band ?

debarge was unique, who can hear "who's holding donna now" and not sing like a sparrow, just did not love how they disintegrated

if you listen to "Rythm Of the Night" it it reminds you a little bit of Gloria Estefan.

Sadly, El DeBarge has had a lot of legal problems the last few years (vandalism, drugs, domestic violence.) In October, he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and two warrants for his arrest. I believe I read he'll be locked up for two years. :(

One of the best soul groups ever. Such a talented family, and El is still one of my favorite soul singers.

A Dream will forever be a classic.

DeBarge needs to get more credit for their contribution to 90's rap songs that basically mined this talented gifted families music. Lets not forget; before the group Debarge, there was Switch. They are the older Debarges' and those brothers had some nice slow jams. Now that you know, go check for 'em. Can't find them on Last. Whats the deal?! :(

DeBarge family gotta be credited for creating that great musical tone that caresses everyone's soul, and strikes right to the heart. Eldra is one of the greatest voices out there.
